Here is a link to a page with B & B's.
They have reviews on this site and if you want me to check out the hosts a bit more drop me an e-mail...It's a small town, I may know them.
The "Dome Home", my house, is on the east side of town, that is where my parent's and one sister are staying. Cloudberry, Sean's place, and where we live and the location of the wedding is a couple miles west of town. Fairbanks is small and it takes about 20 minutes to get from one to the other or to go from downtown to Cloudberry. The Dome Home is about 5-7 minutes from downtown. Springhill Suites is downtown, (This is not a bad thing in Fairbanks, there are cool things to walk to.) Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn are very close to the Dome Home and in what we call "little America", the big box store invasion. (Yes, we have a Walmart in Fairbanks) I'd only discourage that area to let you get a bit more of a Fairbanks ambiance, otherwise location is pretty central for the Dome Home and Cloudberry and you can walk to Carl's Jr, McDonald's and Chili's. You get the picture.
The hotels near the airport are 12 minutes from Cloudberry. Pikes, near the airport has an Alaska feel and is owned by a local. (He is a Republican candidate for Lt Governor who used to sell chicken wings.)
We also have had offers of friends to put people up. One was in the Cloudberry neighborhood just down the road but there is no running water. In good Fairbanks style there is an outhouse and Cloudberry does have water. Let us know what you might need or if sleeping bags on couches is fine. There will be some room at Cloudberry but it may be in the tower as we are filing up.
Friends in town...I have a request...can you put people up? The other request is for coolers. Since this is a potluck we'll have to stage quite a bit of food and knowing this crowd there will be many salads that should be put on ice.
That's all for now...
Karl and I will be staying at the Downtown Log Cabin Hidaway B&B. They do have a couple more vacancies for the week and weekend. www.mosquitonet/~apfvrf
